Batman this weekend

I’m a huge fan of the ’89 Batman. Now that we’re past the 20th century, time has diluted our memories of just how huge this movie was. At the time, it was bigger than any of the Nolan films are today, it was a total game changer. It’s aged fine, not as well as you may hope, but not as poorly as other movies of the period.

It’s playing this Saturday at the Cedar Lee at midnight. Wear a cape and get a free popcorn! (then head back our site on Monday for a new Violent Blue!)

    • It was still in the theaters well into the fall. I was in Jr. high at the time and managed to see it four times. Really, there had never been a superhero film like this before, it completely changed what we though about how to do that kind of movie, and the influence it had on he character itself is still felt to this day.
