Old Christmas videos!

filmography

I posted some of these a couple of years ago, and to celebrate the season we’re doing a few more this year.

Wow they were little back then….

Iscariot

filmography

The story of the betrayal of Jesus, told from the perspective of Judas, and set in modern day Cleveland

This was the first film I ever did everything on. Original score and effects, original script and sets. I was at my most demanding on this movie. It was the first time I refused to compromise. We filmed untill I got the exact shot I was after. It took forever to come out and was possibly my masterpiece.

Grease!

filmography

The very last play I ever did before I got married and gave up the theatre. They wouldn’t let us film this from the back of the theatre so the stage manager and I set up cameras in the wings and shot it ourselves!

and of course it wouldn’t be compelte with a quick behind the scenes featurette!

Ron’s Big Adventure Outtakes

filmography

I’m the kind of guy who watches every feature on a DVD. I love outtakes and behind the scenes stuff, so I ALWAYS include it in my own films!

Ron’s Big Adventure part one

filmography

Of all the films I’ve ever done, this is my favorite.

Seriously. It was the best experiance I’ve ever had making a movie. I had a GREAT DP in Dan Kruzer, a good scrip that I didn’t have to write myself and a wonderful cast. Our Star T.J. is a lot like Ron, or at least, he used to act like that. I’m grateful I got to know him because I got to see ther was a lot more to him than everyone else saw, and wherever he is today I hope he’s doing well.  So without further adieu, we present the first part of Ron’s Big Adventure.

The Adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe part eleven

filmography

Part eleven of The Adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe! This was originally done live…kind of. Mr. Kidzpoints parts were filmed and Mr. Badpointe was on stage reacting. At the end, Mr. Kidzpointe came out and chased him off the stage. We also shot this though, right around the same time so we could possibly bluescreen or split screen it for a DVD release. Here’s our kinda lost episode!

The Adventures of …NOT Mr. Kidzpointe!

filmography

Even though it’s Halloween tomorrow, we can still be thinking abut Thanksgiving!
This was an attempt to revive the Mr. Kidzpoint idea at a different Church – Faith Alive. You could consider this a pilot of sorts. The idea didn’t take root, and neither did we actually….moving on before anything could really develop.

Our friend Douglas Waltz submitted his entry this year for the 9th Annual Cinema 2880 video challenge – You get just 2880 minutes (48 hours) to script, cast, rehearse, shoot and edit a 5-8 minute video short.

He asked me if I could do an explosion for the end and I whipped one up in a couple hours. It’s the last shot of the film. Here’s the short in it’s entirety:

And if you want to see the previous Michigan Smith adventure, it’s available here:

And don’t forget, new Violent Blue this morning!

Part nine of The Adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe! And don’t forget, new Violent Blue tomorrow!

The Adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe part eight

filmography

Part eight of The Adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe! Possibly the most beloved episode of the series. I wish I could take credit for the song, but that was actually written in the script we were using. The quick shot of Julie Andrews by the way, comes from an episode of the Muppet show. It’s during the end credits and is cropped so you only see her!

And don’t forget, new Violent Blue tomorrow!

The 23rd Psalm

filmography

We’ve got a special filmography clip for you today! Shortly after we wrapped the adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe I got a call to do a video illustrating the 23rd Psalm. We  still had a bit of a drama team together and I called in a couple other folks to help! this was the result – one of my favorite clips!

The Adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe part seven

Part seven of The Adventures of Mr. Kidzpointe! By the way, that lighter he’s using? That’s a Tennant era Sonic Screwdriver.
